Scholarships

guillermobarreto

Our volunteer team initiative was started with the goal of starting a  movement of active participation from the community members. We aim to inspire others to give to their community, using art as an inspiring instrument to develop the talent of young enterprising people.

Our scholarship program benefit young boys and girls who are part of our volunteering programs.

The scholarship system works in a way that the recipients receive art, music or dance lessons at our allied institutions such as The Greenwich Art Society, in Greenwich, CT or StudioArte in Norwalk, CT,  with the cost being covered entirely by the “Embracing Art Volunteers Team.” These scholarships are restricted by availability for the different programs, for spring, fall, and winter terms each year.

The applicants must have not only artistic aptitudes to apply for a scholarship – they have to be active members of their communities, participating in social work or any activity that embodies the goals of the “Embracing Art Volunteers Team”

Our scholarship program bears the name of Guillermo Barreto to honor the memory of our always loved artist. Guillermo, a Venezuelan artist, a faithful and unconditional volunteer of our programs, died in November 2013, leaving behind profound lesson of love for art, love for children and his boundless capacity for giving. We will never forget his talent and his warm humanity.
