The International Miniature Print Exhibition is a collaboration between the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, and the Greenwich Arts Council. It is a biennial project which receives entries from all across the world. The concept is to invite artists to submit original prints for exhibition consideration which measure no more than 4 inches square. Any hand printmaking is acceptable, and often artists use a combination of methods to produce compelling works. The format of this International Exhibition forces the artist to focus on the bare essentials of an image or concept.
Since its inception in 1997, the Miniature Print Exhibition has showcased the works of artists worldwide with renowned print curators and collectors serving as jurors. This year’s juror was Freyda Spira, Associate Curator, Department of Drawings and Prints at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year, CCP received 632 prints from 294 artists with works arriving from 33 countries, including representation by artists in 24 states. Spira selected 190 works by 91 artists representing 23 countries and 16 states.
